Production Process

For over 90 years Lambert’s process for making spawn has been rooted in a tradition of quality. We start with selecting the finest grains and nutritional substrates from suppliers who are subjected to rigorous quality testing to ensure that all our specifications are met.

Using exceptional cultures is fundamental when manufacturing premium products. Lambert’s modern Culture Center houses elite stocks frozen under liquid nitrogen that are the foundation used to produce our spawn. Quality tests are performed at every cultural phase that includes prescreening, analyzing, morphing, yields, and characterization. Before being used in production, all cultures must first be approved by one of Lambert’s skilled mycologists.

After sterilization and inoculation, Lambert substrates are aseptically filled and sealed into custom filter bags and then placed in HEPA-filtered rooms designed to enhance stable growth. Regular monitoring and environmental adjusting by our staff keeps the temperature at the optimal level needed for each strains growth. Once colonized, all spawn must pass our rigid Quality Assurance protocols before being transferred into inventory.

Lambert’s production process leaves nothing to chance to make sure our products ones you can count on.
